Marc Farr is to step down as chair of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer Network in 2027. According to Marc:

‘It has been a pleasure and an honour to set up the CDAON over the last few years. We have quickly established a key role in the consciousness of NHS data and analytics due to the fantastic members that we have attracted. We have run two annual sold out conferences, run a very busy online membership forum, a monthly webinar programme open to all and have contributed to policy development from the future role of the commissioning support units to an evaluation of the Federated Data Platform at the Health and Care Select Committee to making the case for the professionalisation of the healthcare analyst. I firmly expect the network to continue to grow in size and influence and to become a key strategic partner for DHSC.

We are fortunate to have a number of brilliant sponsors who have made it possible for us to run our events and create resources and my thanks goes to them for trusting in us as we launched.  I would like to thank my two superb deputies, Rony and Ruth, for frankly, making me look good, and Jane and Emma at APHA for hosting the network. Given that the network was set up with very limited governance and being conscious that I was not formally elected I think it’s now the right time to give somebody younger, brighter and better-looking the opportunity to take over the role and formalise it’s day to day running.’
